The state government has decided to ban a one-year ban on the sale, storage and distribution of gutka and tobacco or nicotine pan masala in the state. The ban was imposed under the Food Safety Standard Act 2006 Act and Regulation-2011. Adding tobacco or nicotine to any food is prohibited.
Tobacco has a lot of damage to human health as tobacco is present in nicotine. This decision has been taken so that it is necessary to ban gutka to maintain the health of citizens and future generation. Food and Drug Commissioner Kaushal added that the state government has issued notification for sale of gutka or pan masala, which contain tobacco or nicotine, to ban sale and distribution. The violation of this rule will be strictly prosecuted.
